The description of this item states "Enamel on Steel" I have not checked if it is steel or not but a better description would have been "Similar to a Soda Can" the material is light weight and the paint is thin. I was trying to replace our old burner covers that have gotten chipped over the years with this same pattern and they are Enamel on Steel and weigh about 3 LBS each. These new ones don't weigh ½ a LBS for the 4 piece set. Don't waist your money.
